HOTEL TO HOME
Once a 16-bedroom hotel, this impressive property in Belsize Park is being meticulously transformed by Catherine Wilman Interiors into a luxurious single-family home. The design thoughtfully balances the property's historic grandeur with modern functionality, creating a space that feels both expansive and intimate.
At the heart of the property, the stunning cantilevered staircase pays homage to the building’s heritage while introducing a contemporary elegance. In the entrance hall, we worked closely with the client to explore different flooring options, ultimately selecting the bold black-and-white marble tiles. This choice sets a striking tone for the home, contrasting beautifully with the refined detailing on the walls and staircase.
The kitchen and dining room are designed for both family living and elegant entertaining. Dark wood cabinetry adds warmth and depth, while light marble countertops bring a sense of airiness to the space. A bespoke wine storage display offers a luxurious touch, making the space equally suited for hosting or everyday use.
The open-plan living area features a deep blue sectional sofa that anchors the room, with minimalist design accents creating a sleek, comfortable environment. A custom room divider ensures the space flows seamlessly between the kitchen and living areas, offering privacy without compromising the home’s airy feel.
The master ensuite bathroom is a tranquil space where sleek marble meets warm wood cabinetry. A freestanding bathtub serves as the centrepiece, positioned beneath large sash windows to allow an abundance of natural light. The result is a serene retreat that provides a calm, restorative environment.
This Belsize Park project is a perfect example of how Catherine Wilman Interiors merges timeless elegance with modern living, delivering a family home that is both grand and welcoming.
